Back Again, again

So, been quite a stranger 'round these parts, but in a nutshell, moved countries and became a Dad, ahhh :)
Finally, the Goober Patrol album 'Mind The Gap' saw the light of day thankfully after alot of hard work and many mixes until we were all happy with it. 16 tracks of lushness have now been unleashed on the public. A bit destroyed by the amount of sites with download for free links, but I guess that's the way things seem to be nowadays. We did some German dates too. Here's a short clip I made to advertise the tour and album -
The tour went really well and we made some great mates in the band Rockwohl Degowski. Great blokes and a great band. We hope to do it again and take the gigs to other place in Europe.
If you'd like the album you can get it on CD here or if you prefer Mp3 you can get it here
Also been busy with The Toy Dolls - the latest album has just been released entitled 'The Album After The Last One' It features a song from me 'B.E.E.R.' (which also appears on the new Goober record) and a song from Duncan 'Draycott Avenue' and of course many songs from Olga. So far it's got good reviews and we are currently playing gigs and festivals. We just played in Spain which was great, here's the tour poster for it -
There's a video of one of the songs to promote the album too-

Toy Dolls recent events

Been out and about recently playing some great gigs and festivals with Toy Dolls.
Most recently played the great Zold Pardon festival in Budapest, Hungary. We played it 5 years ago and it was fantastic then, great crowd and hospitality. It was also the 1000th gig by the band. Here's a flyer for the festival
We had a marvellous time and it's always good to go on early (8.30pm) Pina Coladas after the gig all round, brilliant!

Back Again, Again

So, I haven't been here for quite a while, in a nutshell, moved countries and became a Dad, ahhh :)
Band wise been pretty busy. The Goober Patrol album 'Mind The Gap' finally came out at long last after multiple mixes and back and forth, we were all finally happy with the end result. 16 tracks of lushness have now been unleashed on the public. A bit destroyed by the amount of sites with download for free links, but I guess that's the way things seem to be nowadays unfortunately. The artwork is an homage to a band we all used to love The Crucifucks and I hope they don't mind. We even did some dates in Germany with great new mates Rockwohl Degowski We had alot of fun and had a few lovely German beers too. Here's a short promo clip I made for the tour -
The new album on CD is available here and if you prefer MP3s here
Geographically it is harder to practice and write new stuff, but we're on it and have at least 12 new tracks to record for the next one.
Here are my favourite photos from the tour
Also been busy with The Toy Dolls - the latest album has just been released entitled 'The Album After The Last One' It features a song from me 'B.E.E.R.' (which also appears on the new Goober record) and a song from Duncan 'Draycott Avenue' and of course many songs from Olga. A so far up to date list of the dates for this year. There will be club dates in October/November too -
Off to Holland today for the Pedro Pico Pop Festival, hope it stops raining!

Toy Dolls 30th Anniversary Shows

So, the Toy Dolls are 30 years old. I was 8 when the band started and remember seeing 'Nellie the Elephant' on Top of The Pops when I was roughly 10 I think. My parents expressed disdain at the madcap antics of the mad guitar player with the big sunglasses. I remember that I thought it was great and the drummers huge drum sticks were brilliant. Many years later I end up as the bass player and that makes me smile alot. I've been all over the world with the band and love playing 'Nellie the Elephant' as much as I did the first time I played it live at the VK club in Belgium. We're going on tour this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary and going to loads of lovely places. Can't wait!
We're recording a new Toy Dolls album this year, the demos sound great!

Some gigs and tours coming up....

Time for a different Blog this time other than the one about my times being back in education. Will try and update this as much as possible with photos and bits and pieces from the gigs and stuff I have coming up with the 3 bands I play in.

The new Vanilla Pod album came out on the 5th of October. We are all really chuffed with how it turned out (I did all the design and art stuff on it which I am also happy with) It's out on Boss Tuneage Records and I think it's gonna sell over 20 copies - here's the cover of it...

Got a few gigs in the U.K. to promote the release of this record. Also have a couple of Goober Patrol gigs too, plus a tour of France with The Toy Dolls. Luckily my day job which is airbrushing food has given me all the time off I need to do all these gigs which is good.

Next year sees me going into the studio to record the millionth Toy Dolls album with Olga and Duncan. There's going to be loads of gigs and festivals next year with Toy Dolls which I am excited about.
